-read short excerpts and analyze for themes, arguments, and word usage

-Advanced Rhetorical Strategies

-acquire and use academic vocabulary 

appropriately incorporate textual and contextual support in short essays 

-review grammar rules (capitalization, phrases, pronouns, commas) 

-construct effective theses, introductions, and conclusions 

-Read short excerpts and speeches and analyze for themes, arguments, and word usage
